knit and purrl

after the many cables of the wooly cabled mitts i decided to relax with something simple, amost mindless. thisk needles, double strand, soft wool, no cabling, jut knitting and purling. purr(l).

viral mitts

have to fight a virus today. have to work also, but there is still some time to further explore the world of mittens, double point needles and cables. all together, hehe

shop update

added some wooly things to the shop at dawanda - http://en.dawanda.com/shop/pragueloop

even more

decided to have another take at the theme of fingerless mittens.

more of those

learning more about working on the double pointed needles. the result doe snot look that professional yet... but one day...:D

green thing, first double point neeedles project

am quite pleased with it although it still does not look professional

double point needles

are easier to master than they look. plus, knitting on them is very aesthetically pleasing to me

al cats are grey

fell in love woth grey yarn. working on another grey knit, again from wool purchased in switzerland. knitting VERY loosely to make the pretty and classic yarn stand out, at least the way i define it. it is called jawoll which is kinda nicely tongue-in-cheek-ly named i guess. love the simplicity of the colour and everything

finished the uebersimple triangle

it was knitted entirely at night, between 10 pm and 3 am took about 4.5 hrs to make which is not much.
glad it is cold outside

a simple triangle

using some of the swiss stuff, i am working on an über-simple shawl along the lines of the famous josephinentuch - just adding some random purling.

switzerland

went to switzerland for a short business trip. liked their yarn shops a lot and i did not even go to vilfil for their cult selection - as i had just a lil bit of time, i only visited manor at the bahnhofstrasse and coop nearby, plus another manor dept. store in nearby winterthur.

i am sure there are even bigger shops but i was very satisfied - they carry a big selection of nice natural yarns that are not available in prague (where it is easy to get acrylic but nearly impossible to get one's hands on alpaca, camel etc. and the wool selection is still limited).

bought a ton of grey and muted jawoll and other brands, and also some white-ish stuff from the private brand at manor, called maddison. it is a totally nonscratchy wool that requires thick needles and is quite good.

jawoll is brilliant although someone migh find it scratchy for next-toskin project, but i love it because it is a totally classic and classy stuff. more on this later.
