ssh, one of the well known craft sites will be running a competition to win one of my pouches between dec 1 and 12. watch this space...
after making a modified version of Susie's Reading Mitts (pdf link here, or, if you are on Ravelry you can look here) i have realised that the pattern is actually a great way for a yarn i was not sure of (a pale lavender blend of silk and cotton that did not look OK in any of my swatches).
decided to make finally something for me again - mittens to be used on an upcoming trip to Bretagne in France - called the project "going to france mitts" and so far, so good.
for some reason, giving the project a name made me enjoy the knitting even more, and also look more forward to the loong journey (bretagne via paris, plane + TGV train... lots of use for fingerless mittens for sure).
p.s. better pics later on, maybe in france:))

decided to use a pattern for once. liked the idea of Susie's Reading Mitts (pdf link here, or, if you are on Ravelry you can look here), but have a yarn that called for some cabling, so am making a modified version now.
update: it looks quite nice, and i am planning to make many more things with cables:)
