love the internet

my scarf has not been made yet and people are already calling it "cat in the hat" something, or "zebra-ish".

the recipe for ir is called lacy karius. baktus and karius are name of popular norwegian triangle scarves - apparently named after tooth decay trolls. will brush my teeth very carefully tonight.

quikee blackee

my friend veronika has a birthday coming up - i will get her some nice book plus a pair of guess what, mittens. se wears black a lot so the colour choice was obvious using a blend of alpaca and wool. having just one skein it took some counting and weighing but all seems to be OK:)

they are a-changin’

enjoying the advent time and the snowing. admiring bob dylan christmas album and bryan ferry’s cover version of the dylan classic the times they are a-changin’.
they are very simple mitts with just a few bobbles at the bottom (lovely yarn!). serene evening time. i chose stockinette on purpose, wanted a quiet meditative knit, not some complicated pattern to follow - wanted simplicity, plus the yarn is beautiful enough to work in stockinette:)
made with a slit (overflapped) + open thumb to be used in cold weather but when fingers are still needed.
the yarn (a blend of cmel and wool) is fantastic to work with, maybe the most pleasant i have ever tried.

love the appreciation pics

i was not aware iit was a custom to send people photos of object received from them, but i love it. and hearing the stories about what happened to toys or accesories too. very pleasing.

doll

talked on a phone with a friend who live sin the u.s. she has a daughted aged two - i have not met the girl but we agreed she could use a doll (it was my idea, so no pressure at all from the friend which i value). crocheted a simple doll in the evening, and later on started making some clothes - planning for more. looks quite waldorf, the doll.
