"DYO"

"DYO" stands for "design your own", at least on ravelry (the famous website for the knitting community). there is a group called "sock knitters anonymous" there, and there is a challenge each month. the tasks include knitting patterns from a certain designer, or using a certain technique, etc. 

for june, it is "design your own" (or a choice of two other tasks). it seemed perfect for me as i want a pair of socks for someone and playing with stitches is great.

decided to make a simple, geometric, kinda architectural pattern which is actually dead simple.

am really glad i am using cotton yarn for this - the tempreratures are awfully hot here these days, the hottest in europe (yes, the mediterranean is colder than prague now). 

these wil probably be called MACHO SOCKS as he pattern shall be appropriate for someone who is not into antyhing that might seem girly or frilly.
