i am pretty satisfied - they are intended also for indoor use when it gets chilly in the office, so i took care to bind off loose enough for the fingers to move freely

there is something really satisfying on knitting with thin wool on thin needles and making little delicate knits and purls. using some thin fingering wool from france, decided to make a pair of understated fingerless gloves that look a bit retro. feels nice.

yak!

i finally decided it was time to start knitting with the yak yarn from hedgehog fibres (a yaoung Slovakian indie spinner/dyer living in Ireland and selling top notch yarns). it is so pretty that i was tempted to use just stockinette stitch, but i wanted a very lighweight shawl, that is a bit lacy.
decided to make a simple, geometric lacy shawl - arranged the yarn-overs and knit-togethers into simple rectangles.
i am not yet sure if i keep increasing to the half of the triangle and then decrease, or just keep increasing till the end, so that the shawl will have the pattern turned by 45 degrees. will see how it goes and how much st i can put to my needles i will try to avoid using circs as i am not really a huge fan of them:)
i consider this a swatch - am not yet 100% sure i will keep making it this way:)
