41g Scarflet - free pattern

41g Scarflet by Prague Loop

This is an elegant, versatile lacy scarflet designed to require less than one 50 grams ball of yarn. Maybe you got a nice gift - one ball of a really pretty yarn - and want to utilize it. Or you have some left over. Or just really want to try that fancy yarn and the budget does not allow for a sweater quantity purchase. Whatever the case, this scarflet is for you. It is a lace aimed at the beginner knitter, or as an easy to memorize travel project for the others. After you get to the basic amount of stitches, it is only one row to memorize, so it can be worked over short periods of time. It features a garter stitch border to prevent the edges from rolling.

The lace is formed by yarnovers, whereas the decreases necessary to retain the same amount of stitches are places on the sides of the scarf - there are 4 yarnovers in every row, therefore, on each side there are two decreases. The scarflet is lacy enough to add a feminine touch to an otherwise simple outfit, but understated enough to remain elegant and not to make the result too frilly. Knits up quickly, so you can make several in various colors, and also makes a nice gift - you do not have to worry about the fit:)

The example is knitted from La Droguerie Cashmere [90% Cashmere, 10% Lambswool; 180 yd/165 m per 50g skein].

Gauge is not important for this project, but for the sample, it is 26 sts/30 rows = 4" in stockinette stitch

da real hoodie

time to make  first real sweater. with a hood. kinda reluctant to dive into such a big thing (very thin wool = lots of stitches) but it seems to be the right time.

the yarn is from sweden. the black one is from jarbo, a scandinavian yarn company, the light blue is a special yarn that has been made especially for a lady owning a shop in a small swedish town i recently visited. both are amazingly beautiful, precious looking pure wool. will see...
