What a nice yarn

I just got a new yarn for a yet-unknown project. It came from Sandra Singh who owns a small yarn company and kindly donated this yarn for a contest.

It is a nice, 3-ply merino yarn worsted weight - you can see several other color variations at her page. I just had to wind it into a ball the night it arrived which is why you see a ball of yarn and not a hank - it just looked too inviting to leave it as it was.

It is an exclusive yarn for sandrasingh.com - exclusive does not mean expensive though, the current price is a reasonable 10.35 dollars per hank. Whai i like about the yarn is that it looks classic in terms of being an evenly looking 3ply yarn, but, being a soft merino, it is much nicer to touch than the vintage balls of yarn from my mom's stash (those might have an even twist and a sturdy quality, bt no way could i wear a scarf made of them). The 215 yards / 100 grams look like they will make a nice hat that will not scratch my (or other's) forehead when worn. Now on to experiment with stitches that will complement the variegated goodness:-)
